Objectives:

1. Examine the roots of healthcare and socioeconomic disparities and how these disparities impact health.
2. Explore the Blackman in a Whitecoat’s central themes, such as health inequities, racial bias in healthcare, and the importance of cultural competence.
3. Analyze the case studies presented in the book and how they illustrate the challenges faced by Black people and those of other races and cultures in accessing and receiving quality healthcare. 
4. Discuss the challenges and triumphs of Black doctors and those of other cultures and ethnicities navigating the medical world, including racial bias and stereotypes.
5. Analyze the role of race in healthcare and how race and ethnicity influence patient-provider interactions, treatment decisions, and overall healthcare outcomes.
6.. Promote the importance of healthcare professionals being culturally competent and sensitive to the needs of all patient populations
