Alcohol and Drugs

College students who drink excessively and abuse substances are more likely to smoke, have a low GPA, and skip class. This interactive presentation and support from WKU's health educators will help students accomplish the following:

  • Identify signs of alcohol abuse.

  • Measure the standard serving size of an alcoholic drink.

  • Challenge assumptions regarding alcohol and substance abuse in college.

  • Recall ways to prevent giving into peer pressure.

  • Be able to explain how alcohol and other substance abuse can negatively affect health.

  • Be able to describe the relationship between alcohol and drugs and consent.
