Guest Speaker Dr. Laura Dumin
In education, AI seems to be all around us and the constant changes to AI tools can seem overwhelming at times. Dr. Laura Dumin (University of Central Oklahoma) will discuss how to overcome both our own resistance to AI (if we have some) and our students’ resistance. Along with that, she will discuss how to build classroom and assignment policies around ethical, responsible, and transparent AI use; ideas for AI literacy in our classrooms; and why AI detectors can do more harm than good as a long-term strategy.
