WKU Teaching Fundamentals

Summer 2025 Cohort (July 7-August 8)

Overview

The WKU Teaching Fundamentals is a five-week asynchronous online course designed for faculty who are new to teaching or who need a refresher on some of the basics of teaching. During this course (offered in the Blackboard Ultra Course View), faculty will complete five modules over five weeks and spend about three to five hours per module exploring best practices of teaching and learning in higher education. These modules include topics on course design, student engagement, classroom management, assessment strategies, and trends and issues in teaching and learning such as generative AI and demonstrating teaching effectiveness. Modules will be successfully completed by reviewing module content and resources, and submitting various course materials or reflections in preparation for the coming semester.
