Discussion boards in online classes have a lot of benefits. These benefits include
-
Promote interaction between students
-
Increate the sense of community among students
-
Provide a space for students to apply their new knowledge in a meaningful way
-
Develop analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills
However, discussion boards can become rote for students, which can lead to mindless posts that meet the minimum requirements. It’s time to try some alternatives to the traditional discussion boards. Join us as we demonstrate and explore some assessment/collaboration strategies that you can use as an alternative to some of your discussion boards.
