Join us on Zoom for an interdisciplinary learning community addressing how we help students tackle big or wicked problems. Our conversations will center around strategies for helping our students adopt an interdisciplinary approach to engage in meaningful conversations and develop meaningful and evidence-based arguments in hopes of addressing big problems and questions they are faced with. Potential discussion topics could include things like rhetorical techniques, helping students learn to work with scientific data and understand scientific arguments, strategies for maintaining civil discourse, etc. Readings will be shared prior to the various meetings.
Each meeting will center around a reading recommended by the group and we will discuss implications for our classrooms and ways we might work together to foster student learning.
