Mark McAndrews (Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics, Northern Arizona University, 2020) has been studying and teaching languages for the past decade, taking him to Québec, China, and Arizona. His research, which focuses on describing, and teaching, the sounds of individual languages, has been published in international peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Second Language Pronunciation and Language Teaching Research. His current research interests include specific varieties of English, such as the varieties spoken in call centers and in air traffic control. As a teacher, Dr. McAndrews aims to get students excited about language and to help them develop related skills, including writing and teaching.
