Join us for a conversation about Student Mental Health.
This semester we will be talking more deeply about student mental health and the role that it plays in our classrooms. Whether it be a student who disappears, a student who is “inconsistent” or a student who just can’t seem to engage, students’ mental health impacts their learning in significant ways. Through a selection of chapters from two books, “Improving Learning and Mental Health in the College Classroom” and “Helping College Students in Distress: A Faculty Guide”, we will discuss ways we might help our students through our role as faculty as well as think more specifically about how we might design our courses with students’ mental health in mind and how we can build and encourage emotional resiliency in our students.
Space will be limited to 20 participants.
The book club will meet on the listed Fridays below from 1:00 - 2:30pm
Friday, January 31, February 7, February 21 and March 7
