Facilities Updates


Please note: this is not an exhaustive list of facilities projects. 

 

Summer 2022

The WKU Student Life Foundation invested over $2 million to improve indoor air quality during summer 2022: 

  • All residence hall HVAC systems have received full operational checks and preventive maintenance.

  • Environmental Health and Safety continues to perform air quality testing and visual inspections in residence hall common areas and various residence hall rooms. At minimum, tests are completed during summer, fall, and spring breaks.

  • Hilltopper, Munday, and Southwest Halls received HVAC upgrades and reconfigurations. 

  • Minton Hall - entry door system replacement

  • PFT & Hilltopper Halls - completed phase of floor/room repainting (multi-phase project). 

  • PFT - fan-coil improvements (microbe resistant coating added to HVAC components). 

  • New roofing installations completed at Douglas Keen, Meredith, and Minton Halls.

  • Slate roofing annual survey and repairs completed at McLean Hall. 

  • Window seal repairs completed at Bates Runner Hall

  • Bates Runner and Minton Halls - Insulation and repairs to interior water piping - insulating hydronic components.

  • Upgraded thermostatic control and programming at Hilltopper, Munday, PFT, and Southwest Halls.
