Spend Your Summer at WKU
Summer Term Housing
The following people are eligible to stay in the Summer Hall:
Students of the previous Spring semester
Students enrolled in classes for the Summer terms
Students who will be enrolled in classes for the upcoming Fall semester
Those who are employed by WKU
Those who are participating in an internship at WKU
All outstanding balances with the department of Housing & Residence Life must be paid in full before moving in to summer housing. Those with an outstanding balance will not be permitted to check in to the summer hall. Contact the Office of the Bursar to make your payment.
Hilltopper Hall Summer Rate
*Private rooms are limited and are assigned on a first come, first serve basis.
Summer housing fees will be charged at the time of check-in for the entire length of the summer, including the week at their fall assignment (if applicable). If a student stays for only a portion of the summer, the rate will be pro-rated by days stayed in the summer hall and adjusted for date of checkout.
Fees will be added to a student's university bill, and will be due according to the university's tuition and fees schedule. Learn more at https://www.wku.edu/bursar/coa.php
A hold will be placed on the student's University account for failure to pay, which will prevent them from being able to register, drop/add classes, or receive transcripts until the fee is paid in full.
How to Make a Payment
The WKU Bursar's office has several ways to make payment - learn more at https://www.wku.edu/bursar/payment_options.php.
Advanced registration is required for residents who will be moving directly into summer school housing from their Spring assignment on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
There is also an option to register for move-in on May 8-9.
Advanced registration will begin on April 1, 2021 online in the Housing Portal. Those registering early will receive their room assignment at check-in.
Students who are moving in AFTER May 1, 2021 should register at least 1 business day in advance through the Housing Portal.
When you are ready to move in to the summer hall, go to Hilltopper Hall and check into a room at the front desk.
The front desk is open 24/7 and available to assign you a room at any time.
Saturday, May 1, 6 PM
*Except for students pre-registered for Summer Housing.
Pre-registered students may begin moving in.
Sunday, May 2, 10 AM
Summer residents must be completely moved and checked out of their spring assignment.
Tuesday, August 10, 6 PM
Wednesday, August 11, Noon
Students can either move off campus or into a fall room assignment.
Hilltopper Hall Room Amenities
Each room has two of the following (one set per resident; all furniture is movable):
Loftable, adjustable twin XL bed
Hovering desk - can be positioned anywhere on the bedframe (double room)
Free standing desk (single room)
Desk chair on casters;
Dresser on casters; fits neatly into closet
Soft lounge chair with cabinet arm - cabinet locks (resident provides lock); residents can place chairs together to create a loveseat effect
Hovering side table - can be positioned anywhere on bedframe
Closet - electrical outlets inside
Hotel Style - Bathroom located in room
internet - wireless and ethernet access
Laundry Room - No Additional Charge for Machines
Kitchen on every floor
Dining location on ground floor (Hilltopper Hub)
